Step by step

How does the procedure work?

    Device setup

    Selecting the most suitable operating mode of the device according to the client's individual characteristics.

  2. 2

    Disinfection

    Treating the equipment and the client's skin with professional disinfectants.

  3. 3

    Preparing the client and performing the procedure

    The client lies comfortably on the couch and puts on protective goggles. If needed, any remaining hairs in the treated area are removed with a razor. A contact gel is then applied and the skin is treated with the laser — carefully and comfortably.

  4. 4

    Final stage

    After the procedure, the specialist removes the contact gel from the skin, disinfects it again and applies Panthenol to soothe the skin and support its recovery.

Safety

Contraindications to
laser hair removal

A consultation with a specialist is mandatory before the treatment. In some cases laser hair removal may be temporarily or fully contraindicated.

Main contraindications

  • Pregnancy and lactation period (first 3 months after birth)
  • Oncological diseases
  • Diabetes in a decompensated stage
  • Blood diseases and clotting disorders
  • Ischaemic heart disease and severe cardiovascular conditions
  • Hepatitis B and C
  • Skin infections — fungal, bacterial or viral in the zone
  • Tendency to keloid scars
  • Severe varicose veins in the treatment zone
  • Metal implants in the laser action zone

Temporary contraindications

  • Fresh tan or recent tanning-bed use
  • Antibiotic use (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones)
  • Inflammation, wounds or skin damage in the zone
  • Fever, acute infectious diseases
For clients under 18

A parent or guardian must be present at the first treatment. Note that the unstable hormonal balance at this age can affect effectiveness.

questions

Shaving: 6–12 hours before the treatment, shave the zone to be treated smoothly. The laser must act on the root, not the hair above the skin.
No plucking: For at least 3–4 weeks before the session, do not use an epilator, wax or tweezers. The hair root must be present.
Sun protection: Avoid active sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before the treatment. Use a high-factor sunscreen.
Clean skin: On the day of the treatment, do not apply lotions, oils, deodorants or makeup on the zone. Skin must be clean and dry.
Medication: Stop taking photosensitising antibiotics and retinoids at least two weeks in advance (after consulting a doctor).
No peeling: Do not do chemical peels or aggressive exfoliation in the zone 1 week before your visit.
Treatments 1–2: every 4 weeks.
Treatments 3–4: every 6 weeks.
Following: the interval increases by 1–2 weeks.
Number of sessions: a course of 6–10 treatments; maintenance once every 6–12 months.
Consultation: Checking for contraindications and determining the skin phototype.
Preparation: Cleaning the zone and putting on protective goggles.
Applying gel: A cooling contact gel is used for better glide and comfort.
Laser treatment: The zone is treated with short light pulses.
Final care: Removing the gel and applying a soothing product (e.g. Panthenol).
Absolute: oncology and autoimmune diseases; decompensated diabetes; blood clotting problems; metal implants in the zone.
Temporary: pregnancy and breastfeeding; fresh tan (sun/tanning bed); antibiotic use; wounds, infections or herpes in the zone; acute viral infections and fever.

Laser removal of unwanted hair comes in several types depending on the equipment: diode, Nd:YAG, alexandrite and ruby.

At Laser Zona studios we use a modern diode laser — one of the most effective and safe methods. It allows fast, comfortable and virtually painless hair removal in all zones.

The laser acts on the hair follicle, so hair growth slows down, hairs become thinner and gradually disappear. The diode laser is especially effective for dark hair on light skin.

Important: grey and very light hairs are not affected, as they contain no melanin.
